Empowering Africa's Off-Grid Communities with SolarTV
Who We Are
Apalia24 is transforming everyday life for off-grid African communities by combining clean energy access with localized information, education, and entertainment. Born during the COVID-19 pandemic in response to rising digital and energy exclusion, we are Africa’s first solar-powered satellite television service tailored for underserved populations.
Our flagship SolarTV-as-a-Service model delivers plug-and-play solar kits — including a high-efficiency TV, solar panel, LED lighting, and mobile phone charging — bundled with curated educational and entertainment content in local languages, broadcast via satellite.
We serve the most essential yet underserved: civil servants, teachers, nurses, and rural families across the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Our unique model relies on salary deductions to ensure affordability and eliminate payment default, achieving a 100% collection rate — a game-changer in a sector plagued by high credit risk.
With over 4,600 SolarTV kits deployed in remote DRC, and support from partners like DBSA, ANAPI, CELLO and AMPED Technologies, Apalia24 has proven its potential. Backed by a vertically integrated model combining technology, logistics, and localised content, we are now scaling across DRC and into broader Sub-Saharan Africa — targeting 100,000+ households by 2027.
We believe energy is empowerment, and access to information is a right — not a privilege. That’s why we’re building the continent’s most inclusive media and energy platform for tomorrow’s rural majority.
Our Vision & Mission
Vision
"Building Africa’s most trusted last-mile platform to unleash our human capital — powering, connecting, and informing every citizen."
Mission
"We deliver smart solar kits enriched with local-language content to empower Africa’s frontline communities. One screen, one solar panel, one empowered citizen at a time — we are laying the foundation for a truly connected continent."
What Makes Us Different
from SolarTV to SmartAfrica: One Platform. One Payment. One Promise.
Power + Content + Connectivity
More than just solar. We bundle clean energy, satellite TV, and tomorrow: smartphones and 4G internet — in one unified platform for light, learning, and connection.
Zero Default, Guaranteed
All payments are deducted directly from civil servant or payroll-linked accounts. No cash handling, no delays — just 100% collection, every time.
No Upfront Barrier
Zero deposit. Zero hassle. Clients get access to premium devices and services for a simple, fixed monthly fee.
Built for Off-Grid Realities
Our kits work where the grid doesn’t — and soon, so will our phones. Whether with satellite TV or SIM-enabled 4G access, we connect the unconnected.
Infrastructure That Listens
We don’t wait for roads or towers. From Starlink and Ku-band to rural 4G relays, we build networks that reach the last mile first.
Trusted by Institutions
We’re backed by banks, microfinance leaders, development funds, and top-tier tech firms — because our model works and our clients pay.
Our Story
We began with a question that felt like an act of defiance:
What if every off-grid household in Africa could access not only energy — but also information, dignity, and a voice to be heard?
Born in a time of global crisis and local neglect, Apalia24 emerged from deep frustration — with stagnation, and with outdated aid models that consistently failed to reach those who needed them most.
Traditional infrastructure and powerline systems bypassed the very backbone of the nation — teachers, nurses, civil servants — the people holding the country together in its most remote corners.
We refused to accept that.
And we never — not once — considered giving up.
Instead, we engineered a new way forward:
A payroll-deducted model that bridges public service with financial inclusion — guaranteeing 100% repayment, zero defaults, and a dignified path to ownership.
In just a few years, we’ve delivered light, content, and connection to nearly 5,000 households, impacting over 25,000 lives — without a single dollar lost to non-payment and with full alignment of interests for the years ahead.
But for us, this is not the finish line.
It’s the starting signal of a movement.
As we scale across the DRC and beyond — bundling smartphones, internet access, and next-generation digital services — our vision is sharper than ever:
We’re not just connecting homes. We’re activating a generation.

Our Footprint
Operational Base: Democratic Republic of the Congo
We began in the heart of Africa — a country where over 80 million people live without reliable access to electricity. Today, the DRC is our proving ground and launchpad for continental scale.
In-House Logistics Network
From 4x4s to motorcycles and trucking, we operate our own distribution fleet — ensuring timely delivery, installation, and support even in the most remote zones.
Local Technical Teams
We train and deploy local technicians to handle installations, battery replacements, and customer servicing — generating jobs while ensuring quality control and uptime.
Satellite Teleport Infrastructure
We operate our own local satellite teleport, enabling high-reliability broadcasting of TV content in multiple languages — independent of foreign uplinks or external ISPs.
Strategic Collaborations
We collaborate with vetted partners in infrastructure, media, and financial services — including DBSA, ANAPI, Rascomstar-QAF, ANGAZA, YOZMA, and TOP CONGO — to deliver a bundled service offering with real impact and scale.
